Earthbound

Most of my video game life has revolved around this particular RPG, so I’ve spent the past two days wringing my hands about how to give it the treatment it so very much deserves here. Chances are, most of you already revel in the glory that is Earthbound, or Mother 2, or “the most awesomest game ever,” or whatever you want to call it. At this point in my life, I don’t feel like I can give it a proper review, because I have engaged with it at so much length. I wrote my Master’s thesis* on the game (and its sequel), just because I am that much of an obsessive, sad nerd.

I can’t even begin to direct you to the best review of the game. If you have no idea what Earthbound is, please Google it, run out and buy it for your barely-functioning SNES, or go out and buy a Wii U and purchase it on their virtual console. It’s worth it, trust me. I don’t encourage engaging in illegal and reprehensible actions to obtain this game, but I promise I won’t tell anyone if you do.

Let me just end by stating that Earthbound changed my life for the better. I hope you experience the same.

*If you really want to punish yourself and read the driest and most sterile piece of writing about a video game, contact me and I’ll hook you up. I would love to discuss anything and everything about Earthbound with you guys.
